Suspected assassins on rampage in Okpanam community, near Asaba, Delta state on Thursday night, killed a human rights lawyer, Barr. Patrick Ashiedu.

It was reliably gathered that the six-man armed gang started shooting sporadically into the air, causing people around the area to take to their heels.

The victim ran into them and he was brutally shot several times without being robbed, leading people to suspect they were not robbers but hired killers.
