The House of Representatives on Wednesday 26th October 2016 summoned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over alleged extra-judicial killings in Bayelsa State.

The invitation followed widespread allegations of alleged killings by policemen and other security agencies across the state.

Douye Biri, a PDP lawmaker from the state who raised the matter during plenary Wednesday afternoon, said Bayelsa recorded no fewer than four suspected extra -judicial fatalities within the last two weeks.
