The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of the younger brother to the Accountant General of Imo State, Mr. Valentine Obiezu simply identified as Obiezu.
Obiezu, a millionaire senior oil worker, was reported to have been killed by kidnappers, who made an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap him in his village, Akatta in Oru East Council area of the state.
According to the spokesman of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, Obiezu had returned home for New Year celebrations when the incident happened.
However, village sources said that Obiezu was driving in his Toyota Hilux vehicle along the Orlu-Mgbidi Road when the kidnappers accosted him.
