Description
WARRI—TENSION is allegedly mounting in the Niger Delta region over non-payment of about five months stipend owed ex-militants by the Federal Government under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP. Though the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator, PAP, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (retd), said that government was doing everything possible to ensure that the ex-militants were paid to avert such delay in future, the former agitators are fuming.
The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, umbrella body of Ijaw youths worldwide, confirmed the apprehension, yesterday, saying the council was under pressure from ex-militants.
