February 12, (THEWILL) – Gunmen, on Saturday morning shot dead two persons in Omuobuizu clan, in Ibaa community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A community source said one of the victims, (simply identified as Bobo), was a member of the disbanded local vigilante group known as OSPAC, which before the incident, had been factionalised.

The source disclosed that the incident had heightened tension in the Ibaa community for fear of reprisal attack.

Spokesperson for Rivers State Police Command, DCP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the attack said only one person was reportedly killed.

She however said normalcy has returned to the community, while investigation into the killing has commenced.
