It was gathered that the criminals had stormed the house of one Bishop Tina Ebireri in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state and robbed her, taking away also her mobile phone.

Naija News understands from reports that the incident happened on April 9, 2022.


The report claimed that the suspects trailed the female cleric from her church at Ebrumede roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area to the entrance of her compound on the fateful day.

They reportedly demanded her mobile phone and shot and wounded her.

However, after the attacks, they left their mobile phone and their tricycle behind.

The mobile phone belonging to the suspected armed robbers was promptly recovered by the Police in Agbarho Community, Naija News learnt.

Confirming the incident on his Facebook page, the Director-General of the Conference for the Actualization of Human Rights, CAHR, Omes Ogedegbe Esq said the incident occurred on April 9, at about 6:30 pm.

He said, “It is sickening at this point that the Police of Agbarho Division is yet to make any major arrest.

“This is a demand on the Commissioner of Police to immediately direct his Agbarho DPO to commence an action without delay.”

Meanwhile, an officer of the Nigerian Police Force caught on camera smoking weed has been arrested.

A photo had gone viral on social media showing a police officer smoking weed in the public at the Ijora area of Lagos State, Naija News recalls.

The image had generated a barrage of reactions from Nigerians who bemoaned the situation and demanded that actions be taken against the personnel.

Days after the photo surface on the internet, a statement released on Tuesday evening by Lagos Police Command spokesperson, DSP Benjamin Hundeyin gave the name of the erring officer as ASP Babatunde Adebayo.

The officer is reportedly serving at the Shogunle Divison of the command of the state.

Hundeyin mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed the immediate commencement of appropriate disciplinary measures commensurate with his rank.
