Eventually I was called back by Integrity Group Campaign Secretary at around 1pm to the local government council. Party and INEC officials had arrived.

Myself and my polling agent entered the nomination venue, among other people. Delegates were ad hoc and were 30 in all, except Ambassador Etim Jack Okpoyo.

Voting commenced after accreditation and fully ended. Sorting was done after which point, a young man came in, broke the ballot box and tore the ballot papers into pieces.

The Party officials, in the presence of INEC officials, never got to the point of separating who got what from who, not even to talk of announcing a winner. There was no nomination in Urue-Offong/Oruko. There were witnesses.

I have briefed my lawyer on the events above. We await the next steps of the Party so as to know how to respond.

I want, as long as God gives me the grace, to right what is wrong in our fatherland. Things must be done properly. For instance, on the day of the Congress, there was no democratic selection(Electoral Act) of ad hoc delegates in my Ward. People, including Integrity Group Members, just sat around the Party Secretariat conversing, after which money was shared and that was the end. Additionally too, the minimum requirement of 48hours to publish names of ad hoc delegates before nomination was not complied with. It was shrouded in official secrecy. I have never seen such attempt to impose a particular candidate on a people in an attempt to have a rubber-stamp legislature, even in the midst of rejection of such candidate by the majority of the same people.
