Around the early hours of Tuesday Night, 13th Dec 2022, between 7 to 8pm, there was a fracas between rival cult groups around plaza area or uyo township in Akwa Ibom state. There were unconfirmed reports of wounded victims and possible fear of death. The cause of the fracas is not confirmed(known)

According to Source, at about 9pm, it was gathered that armed security operatives had cordoned off the stretch or the affect scene of the violence to restore calm.

In the mean time, people around uyo are advised to be guided in their movements around the entire axis of plaza covering wellington Bassey/Oron road junction to uni uyo junction up to Aka and Abak road junction.
