Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli, Delta State, Chief Joe Unuame, and his driver, were, yesterday, confirmed dead in an accident involving his SUV and a tanker.

He was on his way to Patani to attend a major PDP rally in Ijaw town on the East-West road. Umuame’s car reportedly had a head-on collision with a tanker near Umeh junction along Ughelli/Patani axis of East-West road.

It was learnt his driver died on the spot, while Unuame died in a hospital, where he was rushed to.
