A yet-to-be-identified car dealer was stabbed to death by some hoodlums along Ordnance Road, Trans-Amadi in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the deceased was driving a Toyota Matrix car when four armed men in a vehicle overtook his vehicle and forced him to a stop.
Alighting from his vehicle, the attackers asked the deceased for his car key which he refused to surrender to them.
Suspecting that the hoodlums may be after his car, he threw the keys inside the automobile instead and grabbed one of the assailants.
When contacted, the Rivers Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident as well as the eyewitness account.
Iringe-Koko said an investigation has commenced into the incident with a view to unraveling the cause and apprehending the culprits.
She said, “About three people attacked the man and stabbed him. Thereafter he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“We have commenced an investigation. The Commissioner of Police has already ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident to ensure that those that carried out the attack and fished out and prosecuted.”
