The South South Zone of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC on Tuesday destroyed counterfeit drugs worth over nine point six billion naira.

The Minister of Health Professor ISAAC ADEWALE who supervised the destruction at NAFDAC Igwuruta dump site said the fake drugs were mainly pain killers and breast enhancement drugs.

The Minister of Health said the counterfeit drugs are capable of destroying the human body which may lead to death if allowed into the market.
