Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has revealed that he wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari offering two armored helicopters bought by the immediate former governor of the state to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

Mr. Wike’s explanation came in the wake of claims by the Nigerian Customs Service that its agents had confiscated the two helicopters. Mr. Wike explained that he made the offer to President Buhari in response to the excessive customs duty on the helicopters and the Federal Government’s refusal to grant the state a waiver to clear the two armored helicopters.
