A vigilante has allegedly shot one Godspower Dimkpa in Omademe community in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State after collecting N25, 000 bail from his older sibling.

The incident occurred barely 48-hours after the state Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong, reiterated an order barring vigilantes from using firearms and detaining suspects in their custody.

Twenty-nine-year-old father of two children was said to have been ambushed and shot by a member of the vigilance group codenamed OSPAC in Omademe on his way to IPO 2; a nearby community after his release by the group.

Speaking to journalists, Dimkpa’s elder brother, Luggard said the case that took the deceased to the vigilantes was between his late brother and his tenant.
