Description
Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of sponsoring the melodrama and internal crisis among its members with the aim of frustrating APC’s petitions at the election petition tribunal.
Recall that a High Court in Port Harcourt on Thursday, issued an order restraining the Chairman of the party in the state, Emeka Beke, from parading himself as such.
The court presided over by Justice D. S Kio also restrained Zubby Dike from further parading as the party’s legal adviser.
The court granted the party’s Deputy Chairman, Omiette Ederebo, prayer to act as the Chairman of state APC, pending the determination on the motion on notice.
This is as some members of party have continued to dump APC for PDP.
One of the defectors and candidates for Port-Harcourt Federal Constituency II, Collins Owhonda, told the newsmen that APC was not prepared for the 2023 election.
But the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Darlington Nwauju, while reacting to the development, yesterday, maintained that the internal crisis was absolutely sponsored by the PDP, calling on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to investigate Justice D.S. Kio over the handling of Suit N0.PHC/925/CS/2023, on the issue of exparte injunction restraining two officers of the party.
