Many residents of the coastal Ayetoro community in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State have been reportedly rendered homeless as a result of the surge of the Atlantic Ocean.

The surge was said to have happened on Monday, destroying many houses in the community.

According to a resident of the community, in a viral video, the ocean had taken over half of the land of the community.

He called on the federal and state government as well as the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Ondo State Oil-Producing Areas Development Commission to come to the rescue of the community.
