An egregious incident of political violence transpired in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, wherein the erstwhile Chairman spearheaded a cohort in the wanton destruction of venues earmarked for empowerment initiatives undertaken by the incumbent Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Darlington Orji, in the locales of Omerelu and Apani. Regrettably, the altercation resulted in numerous individuals sustaining grievous gunshot injuries. This lamentable event serves as a stark illustration of the lamentable propensity to construe politics as a ferocious struggle, rather than a benign contest.
